Problem

Africa Speaks exists to build a thriving Christian publishing industry across the continent — connecting editors, publishers, and practitioners from dozens of African countries under a shared professional purpose.

They were operating without a digital presence entirely. No public site, no member space, no way to organise the network online.

Solution

Designed the full experience in Adobe XD — public site and member portal — then built a multilingual WordPress front-end in English, French, and Portuguese, covering the three dominant publishing languages across the continent.

Behind it, a custom community portal built on CodeIgniter 4 and MySQL — a private members' zone with a structured discussion forum, a searchable membership directory, and member management tooling that sits behind the public site without feeling like a bolt-on.
